Samantha Hew is a California Native whose roots trace back to the serene mountain foothills of the Sierra known as El Dorado Hills, California. She has a big love and passion for sports, specifically football and baseball (go Niners and Giants!), animals, traveling, music, wake surfing, and of course, the legal field. If there are two things she will spend all her money on it is going on trips and attending concerts, festivals and shows!
With an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento, Samantha embarked on a journey into the legal world. Despite her initial interest in criminal law, she found herself intrigued in the civil side of things while working as a Legal Assistant for a law firm in Sacramento. San Diego beckoned, and Samantha made the move in 2023 to join Gupta Evans & Ayres!
San Diego may have been quite of a change of scenery for Samantha, transitioning from a quiet suburban life to the hustle and bustle of Downtown San Diego, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. She has been embracing the city life and is having lots of fun learning about San Diego and exploring all the different coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and scenic spots around her.
What do you do when you’re not working?
When Samantha is not working, you can usually find her at the gym, tending to her pets and plants, relaxing at the beach or out with friends. Some more of her favorite things to do is play pickleball, go to the bar on game days, wake surfing, and have poker nights with her family and friends.
If you were to look back from the age of 80 and tell yourself anything what would it be?
That everything happens for a reason and what is meant to happen eventually falls into place at its own time.
What is one fact about your education or upbringing that few people know?
Samantha ended up having to stay in college for an extra year because she switched her major from Animal Science to Criminal Justice two years in!
What are two things on your bucket list?
1. Go to a Niners Super Bowl game!
2. Won a bull – it’s her dream pet!
