A Michigan native, Ajay came to San Diego in 2002. He lives in La Jolla with his beautiful wife, two boys and cat. Ajay spends almost all his free time with his family. They enjoy hiking Torrey Pines, biking in Coronado, and Saturday mornings at the Little Italy Farmer’s Market. His sports of choice are basketball and golf. Ajay can be seen at poker night every third Friday of the month.
Ajay graduated from the University of Michigan in 1997 and the University of San Diego School of Law in 2005. He opened his practice in 2008 and has been involved in real estate law ever since. Ajay’s practice focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on bankruptcy and real estate matters.
Mr. Gupta has been recognized by SuperLawyers in 2015 and again for 2016, which is reserved for the top 5% of lawyers in the country. In addition, Mr. Gupta is one of 12 certified bankruptcy specialists in San Diego County and widely regarded as an authority in the area of real estate and corporate law.
Ajay takes a hands on, holistic approach to working with clients. He enjoys working to find solutions that address not only the financial concerns of his clients, but solutions that address the emotional aspects of their case as well.

Originally from Ventura County, California, Chris moved to San Diego in 2015 where he now lives in Crown Point with his golden retriever, Crosby. They can often be seen hiking and going for bike rides throughout the county. In his free time, Chris enjoys playing various team, water, and snow sports. He is a football and hockey fan, especially of the Kings. He also enjoys traveling.
Chris Evans is an Associate at the Gupta Legal Center with a focus on the firm’s civil litigation matters. Chris has extensive litigation, research and writing experience, particularly in the areas of commercial, real estate (residential and commercial), contract, creditor and debtor rights, and secured transactions. He also has experience with bankruptcy law. Chris has navigated a variety of cases from inception to completion, and has successfully briefed or argued numerous dispositive motions in both state and federal court.
Chris is a personable and competitive attorney who has the ability to persuade and argue feverishly for the goals of his clients, while understanding enough to work together with the opposition to achieve the desired result. He is compassionate and caring and enjoys being able to work with his clients one on one and to find resolutions for their individual needs.
Chris is a problem solver. He has a demonstrated ability to settle cases quickly and efficiently before the client must not only face the financial concerns associated with litigation, but the emotional components as well. He is always looking for new and innovative ways to resolve his clients’ cases without a long drawn-out litigation process.
Chris graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from San Diego State University in 2010 and immediately pursued his legal career by graduating from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2013. In law school, Chris served as an Editor for the San Diego Journal of Climate & Energy Law and a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honors Society, graduating in the top third of his class.

Michael Russo was born and raised in San Diego. “I love it here. Having been born in a family of six, along with extended family and friends being in San Diego, this is where I want to end up,” he says. Both of Michael’s parents immigrated to the United States from Sicily in the 70s . Michael is a big admirer of sports, mainly soccer from growing up watching with his Grandfather. He also enjoys playing beach volleyball and soccer in his downtime.
Russo graduated from the University of San Diego with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance and Marketing. Upon graduation he set his sights on going into the legal field, with the goal of becoming an attorney. He came to Gupta Legal Center with the intent on gaining more experience and learning more about law, specifically litigation, having worked for another firm in San Diego prior. He works closely with both Ajay and Chris in assisting on client matters and cases where needed. He is the direct point of contact for the office and is responsible for a variety of aspects within the firm.
